Namaste, no high five or hug
Covid 19 is a contagious bug
They say it spreads like wildfire
And sometimes with consequences dire
Our world has changed and can never be
What was before for you and me
Why, when I met my near and dear ones the other day
Post lockdown it was after the 3rd of May
Our happiness to see each other after so long
Was clouded by the worry of infection among
Asymptomatic carriers and who is to say
It could be friends or family or even my cat one day
The virus is oblivious of what it has done
There is fear lurking behind every smile when before there was none
Such fear that we hear the most ridiculous news
About #coronajihad and such irrational views
These are challenging times for us all
It’s time to pay heed and take a call
Can we take all the precautions and still be together
Despite social distancing, in spirit with one another
Not let the virus infect the humanity we have left
I’m sure that’s not it’s intention to leave us bereft
Of compassion and kindness and to look upon each other
Not as virus repositories but as a sister or a brother
A shift in perception from fear to love may
Improve our immunity and keep the virus at bay
That’s what I have heard the eminent biologist Bruce Lipton say
And it sure makes sense to me especially today
To choose love not fear
In each and every moment of this life so dear.
Enough! Let go, let life flow
It will take us where we are meant to go.

This is not me
