We were told that this is victory
We were told that they were important in getting us to this place
They wanted us to celebrate it
They even told us how to do it
They were upset about the people who had their own idea about what this meant to them
A lot of us were scared to express our views as they were capable of causing great pain and humiliation
Some of us showed up at the celebrations,
some formed small groups to find company in their agreement or disagreement
and some watched everything from a distance quietly
For a few it was a moment when their faith got questioned
Some saw domination,
some saw reconciliation,
and some seeked revenge like it was personal
A lot gets revealed in the way we celebrate
It is often wildly vengeful and in your face
It is rare to see one that is serenely confident and full of grace
I thought my faith was unlimited and I was wrong
I am probably on my last pint
and I do not know how this world will look after I down my last sip
Wile I still have some left with me, I will do some prayers
Prayers to what I imagine as a just, kind and unbiased entity
I pray that you show me sights that will replenish my faith in you
Let me go back to those times where I felt that my trust in you is unconditional
Let me see humans being humanised
Let there be care and cooperation and not distancing and domination
I want heroes with humility and leaders with honesty
Let there be curiosity and concern and not conclusion and judgement
Let children have a childhood and the elders their dignity
Let there be love and let there be grace
Let us manifest a future where nature has its space

This is not me
I suddenly felt it in the most unexpected place. I was sitting in a room full of people at an auditorium. People had gathered here to attend an event. It was a mix of old and the young with the old outnumbering the young. I was tired with the circumstances of my life...
